ELMWOOD PARK, NJ (March 28, 2021) - EFA Metro Head Coach Rob Kruk announced the hiring of Kean University Men's Soccer assistant coach Jimmy Lima for the upcoming 2021 Spring United Premier Soccer League Season.

"Jimmy brings a wide variety of experience and his energy has already been felt in sessions during the team's preseason. We are excited for him to be part of our EFA family and look forward to him helping us achieve our goals this spring," said Kruk.

Lima joins Metro's staff bringing experience working with various organizations in the area. Having played his college soccer at Kean University, Lima would go on to join Caldwell University as an assistant before he founded Vulcan FC, a Caldwell, NJ based youth club. Currently an assistant with the Kean University Men's Soccer team, Lima is looking forward to joining the project at Metro and the aim to develop young talents in the area.

"Watching Metro games last season, I was impressed by the team's style of play and the atmosphere brought to games by the team's supporter group, the Ultras," added Lima. "The energy of the environment and chance to work with young talents made it an easy decision for me when the opportunity to join Metro became a possibility."

Lima has been busy alongside Kruk the last several weeks, overseeing preseason as the team gears up for the season opener against NJ Alliance FC on April 11th, 3 pm at Newark Schools Stadium. Following the clash with NJAFC, Metro returns to Athenia Steel Park for the 2021 Spring Home Opener against Queens Meadow FC kicking off at 7:45 pm. Tickets for home matches will be available the evening of every home match at cost of donation.
