ELMWOOD PARK, NJ (March 23, 2021) - EFA Metro is happy to announce the appointment of assistant Rob Kruk to head coach effective immediately for the Spring 2021 UPSL season. The decision comes after Danny Szetela, the club's first ever head coach, stepped down from the role due to personal reasons. "We would like to thank coach Danny for his time and service to Metro in the team's inaugural season and we wish him all the best moving forward," stated Club President Jake Golabek. "We are excited to see coach Rob take on the role and look forward to him continuing to build on the success of the fall season."

Coach Rob took to the field at Century Field in Garfield the weekend of March 13th and 14th as Metro hosted open tryouts. The team began preseason at Athenia Steel Park last week where coach Kruk has been busy building his team for the upcoming season. "We are taking this time to give a look to a lot of players who we think can add something to the team going into the spring. We have several guys away on college duty so we are looking on those locally to continue to set a good standard and bring a good work rate," added Kruk.

The team will face off against local foes behind closed doors in the weeks to come before opening up the season at NJAFC at 3 pm on April 11 at Newark Schools Stadium. The following week will see a return to Athenia Steel Park for Metro's home opener where the team will welcome the newly rebranded Queens Meadows FC for a 7:45 pm kickoff. Tickets will be available at a cost of donation the evening of the match.
